The 10-year-old boy who suffered serious leg injuries in a collision in Gants Hill on Thursday is now in a stable condition.
The child was hit by a car outside Gants Hill Library, in Cranbrook Road, at midday.
The London Ambulance Service sent one crew, an advanced paramedic and a single responder, who treated the boy before he was taken to the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel, with foot and leg injuries.
Following the incident, Cranbrook Road was blocked southbound towards Gants Hill Roundabout and a single alternate flow was directed by the police.
A second incident in Gants Hill on Thursday saw a child hit by a bike in Valentines Park.
He was taken to Whipps Cross Hospital with facial injuries.
A spokesman for Redbridge police said they are investigating the collision outside the library and have not made any arrests so far.
