Expect break-dancing ugly sisters, princes’ showing off their Gangnam Style moves, as well as a host of famous fairytale characters in a special family show when it comes to Ilford on Sunday.

Be transported into a world of wonder with Fairy Tales & Fables and follow the journey of Clara Cupcake after she finds a dusty old book in the corner of her toy shop.

Writer of the show, Leah Bell, of Northumberland, who plays Clara Cupcake, said: “We aim to keep the show very modern, especially the music.

“When we first started the production company around 20 years ago children’s toys were extremely different and we aim to mirror the changes with a fast-paced show.”

As the pages of the book are turned, the colourful characters come to life and the shop becomes a place where dreams come true and pandemonium runs riot with the arrival of the evil villain, Rat Head.

Leah added: “We try to bring new characters in all the time and in this production we have Cinderella, Prince Charming, aka William, and his brother Harry.

“The highlight of the show is seeing the princes’ dance to Gangnam Style. Parents are always reluctant to join in and then end up going above and beyond.”

The show is at the Kenneth More Theatre, Oakfield Road, Ilford, on Sunday, at 2.30pm. To book call 020 8553 4466. Tickets are £10 for adults and £8 for children.
