A veteran cabaret producer and director is looking for singers, dancers and musicians, ahead of his ensemble’s show next month.

Producer John Dudman, of Fullwell Avenue, Barkingside, has been organising shows since 1976, and is now looking for new young talent to bolster Cab-hoo-ray’s latest production.

He said: “I have got a big stage show in the cabaret form and it’s the only group of its kind in Redbridge.”

Cab-hoo-ray will perform at Hatfield Lodge, in Hatfield Close, Barkingside, on October 10 from 8pm-10pm.

Mr Dudman said: “People can expect a fast-moving professional standard with terrific artists.

“We want people who have never had a chance to be involved in a production and people do not have to pay a penny to join, but I have to audition you.”

He urges that he can give young performers the “confidence they need to break into cabaret”.

The producer and director won an award five years ago for his work in the entertainment business across Essex and London. He said: “I do this to help budding entertainers get on in the industry, not for personal gain.”

Mr Dudman has been producing shows all over Redbridge and Essex for 38 years and has helped mould young talent.

The new talent will be joined by acts from Mr Dudman’s previous successful variety shows.

These include a county and western singer, a rock band and ballad singers.

He said people from “all walks of life” are welcome to audition.
