Dagenham & Redbridge must stick together and get back to the way they were playing earlier in the season as they turn their attentions to the FA Cup.

Daggers will make the trip across the capital to face league rivals Wealdstone in the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup on Saturday

The winners of the tie will bag £9,375 in prize money as the losers receive £3,125 for their efforts in the cup competition.

Boss McMahon doesn’t mind whether it’s league or cup, he just wants his side to bounce back after three consecutive league defeats.

“No I don’t. It’s a game of football, we need to go and perform again. I don’t care what it is, I hate excuses, and I hate trying to find excuses,” McMahon said.

“We need to work properly and work hard. Get back to what we’re about.”

Dagenham will be strong favourites to progress into the first round but they drew with the Stones in the league earlier in the season.

The focus for McMahon is to see his side give a reaction after slipping down to sixth in the National League table following a 2-0 defeat to Boreham Wood on Saturday.

Although he feels there is no reason to panic as they’ve shown what they’re capable of in the first 11 games of the campaign.

“At the same time we’ve shown across the season so far that we’re a good side, we’re going through a spell, up until this game we haven’t got what we deserved in games.

“We’ve got to stick together, get back to what we know, get back to the training ground and working hard then get back to what we expect from our team.

“It was a million miles away from it. Perhaps where we started so well everyone has got carried away with what got us there, but you know me I never look past the next game.

“Maybe we’ve got a few that think they’re better than they are at times.”

Dagenham will be hoping Mauro Vilhete is back available and in contention for the clash after missing out last weekend due to illness.
