Herons lost 36-0 at Stowmarket last Saturday
David Wiggins is content Wanstead are without a game in London Two North East this weekend, despite losing 36-0 at Stowmarket last Saturday.
The Herons were kept scoreless for the first time this season after giving a performance which disappointed Wiggins.
The Roding Lane North may have been hoping to get that loss out of their system quickly, but are without a game this Saturday.
Owing to the continuation of various county cup competitions, no league fixtures are planned this Saturday.

And director of rugby Wiggins still seems fairly satisfied with the fact that Wanstead are not in action again until December 1 when they entertain Norwich, despite last weekend’s loss.
“We chose not to enter the cup competitions and it’s a decision we still stand by as it’s better for the players,” he said.

“When we do come back, our next three matches are must-win games and we’ll be working hard in training leading up to the Norwich fixture.”
Had Wanstead won at Stowmarket last Saturday, they could have moved to within eight points of leaders Woodford, who lost at home to Romford & Gidea Park last weekend.
The Herons would also have clambered up to third with a win, with Saffron Walden losing 57-5 at Norwich.
Wiggins knows the Roding Lane North club missed an opportunity to capitalise on their rivals’ slip-ups, but knows his team still remain in a good place.
“We’re still fourth and if we can make it to Christmas by winning all three of our games before then, we’ll be doing well,” he added.
“It will be tough to win all three of those games, but we’ve got players coming back and that is not going to make us weaker.
“The aim for this phase had always been to make it into the top three before Christmas and we’re working towards that.”
Wanstead will be busy in training over the coming days to ensure they can start that run to Christmas by getting the better of Norwich when they return to league action on December 1.
