Leyton Orient manager Kenny Jackett could be facing a selection headache as they’re potentially without Tom James, Darren Pratley, Hector Kyprianou, Paul Smyth and Callum Reilly.

The O’s will travel to Prenton Park on Saturday to take on Tranmere Rovers as they look to bounce back in League Two following a 2-1 defeat to Crawley Town.

The last time the two sides met was recently as Orient sealed a 4-0 victory over the Rovers in the second round of the FA Cup.

“That’s what you have squads for, Tom (James) has been a good player for us, it doesn’t look like he will play now for a little while but we have some options and make sure we adjust,” Jackett said.

“I don’t know yet to be honest with you, he (Hector Kyprianou) felt his hamstring, and just before the Swindon game. Hopefully he pulled out in time, but it will be touch and go at the back end of next week to tell whether he’s fit or not for that game.

“Darren on two yellow and he’ll automatically miss that game. We have a squad, we have to come back fighting, there is a lot of ups and downs.”

The former Millwall managers knows how tight the league table is as they currently sit ninth after slipping outside of the play-off places last weekend.

He also knows the importance of putting in a good run of results consecutively to remain among the front-runners in the division.

“It’s a tight league table, it’s not easy to win games, it’s not easy to win consistent games. Have we won three on the trot, not yet anyway, and we have to try to aim for that if we want to close the gap at the top,” the boss said.

“Bouncing back is a big thing and we have to do that in a division where it is very tight and very close.

“There has been a lot of draws and a lot of close games.”

Youngster Matt Young could be handed his chance in the league campaign with a lack of midfield options following his impressive performances in the Papa John's Trophy matches.
