The latest news from the Thomas McCurtains GAA club

Thomas McCurtains’ men’s footballers missed out on winning the AIB London League Division Two title after losing to Neasden Gaels.

An early brace from full forward Conor Murphy put the Goodmayes club in control with a quarter of an hour played, but Gaels soon hit back.

In the end, McCurtains suffered an eight-point defeat in the final McGovern Park to miss out on the trophy.

The men’s reserve football team will hope they can triumph this Sunday, though, when face Round Towers in the London Reserve Championship.

Round Towers also provide the opposition for McCurtains’ women’s football team in their London Intermediate League fixture on Saturday.

The men’s hurling team, meanwhile, take on Fr. Murphy’s in the London Intermediate Championship, also on Saturday.

With so many of their teams in action over the course of the weekend, McCurtains will hope there are plenty of good results to look back on and celebrate.
