Katie Hurry was among the medals in Paris

England international Katie Hurry brought home a silver medal from the Karate first Premier League Paris Open in France last week.

The 24-year-old from Clayhall beat opponents from Austria, Morocco, France and Croatia to secure a place in the final.

There, she lost out to the reigning European champion from hosts France and settled for silver.

Hurry is currently working towards the European Championships, which are being held in Tenerife during May.

She will then turn her attention to the World Championships, in Paris in November.

Hurry teaches children’s classes in Ilford. Anyone interested in joining can contact her on 07885 735517.
