Goodmayes Primary School pupils were crowned basketball champions of Redbridge at the borough tournament at Mayfield.
The team will now go on to represent Redbridge at thhe London Youth Games at Crystal Palace on July 5.
Coach Nicky Skinner said: “The team were absolutely amazing. Their hard work and determination paid off, they played every game with their heart and thoroughly deserve to be champions. I’d like to say a big thank you to coach Aaron for his support.”
Captain Ethan Salhotra added: “With any sport the main aim is to win, but I feel that this can’t be achieved without the importance of a great team and a great leader.”
Headteacher Marjorie Lopez-Stewart is very proud of the champions and wishes them success at the London Games. It will be the second time this year Goodmayes will represent the borough as they have been chosen to fly the flag for Redbridge at tag rugby on March 15.
