Youngsters impressed in competition in Croydon

Forest School continue to deliver impressive sporting achievements under the new programme introduced by director of sport Ben Adams and his staff.

The Snaresbrook-based school’s latest success was in hockey, where their under-16 boys’ squad competed in the National Indoor Finals.

It was the first time Forest had reached that stage after impressing at the Essex and East regional rounds of the competition held in January at the University of Essex in Colchester.

The National Finals took place at Whitgift School in Croydon, with some of the best hockey schools from across the country in action.

The standard was high, but Forest came away with silver medals to show for their efforts, as well as the experience of competing at such an event.

After coming so close on their first outing at the Nationals, Forest will harbour hopes of winning the competition in the near future.

Forest: Bury, Holden, Dolden, Weerakkody, Palaniappan, Amos, West, Ashaye, Britt.
