Wanstead under-15s finished top of Division Two after sealing a comfortable 38-15 victory against Stanford last weekend.

Wanstead kicked the game off with Harry Turner using the wind to put his kick just 10 metres from the home line, where a fumble took it into touch.

The resulting lineout was collected by a soaring Ryan Loyal and driven towards the line before Alex Phillips collected from the back of the maul and powered over to score.

Stanford edged closer to the line, but the ball was turned over and the speed of the whole Wanstead team kicked into action with Sid Robinson finishing it off.

There were to be two more flashing attacking moves from Wanstead’s backs, finished off by Andrew Jones and Alex Phillips giving the young Herons a convincing 26-0 lead at half-time.

The hosts did get a few tries back, but Wanstead added to their haul too, with Mason Noble getting the final try of the match.
