Herons collected a 12-10 success at home to Norfolk club at the weekend
David Wiggins expressed his pleasure with Wanstead’s team performance in a 12-10 success at home to Norwich in London Two North East.
The Herons returned to winning ways in the league with the narrow success at home.
Matt Ward and Jake Naughton both crossed for tries for the Roding Lane North club in the win, with Jacob King adding a conversion.
Director of rugby Wiggins feels Wanstead could have added to those scores, but was nonetheless happy to come away with a victory.
“It was a hard, uncompromising game, but I felt we should have won by a bigger margin,” said Wiggins.
“I was pleased for the boys as they had worked hard in the two weeks leading up to the game, but there were a few cases of ‘white-line fever’ that saw some chances not taken.
“There are things for us to work on and we let Norwich back in at key times in the game, but that shouldn’t detract form a solid team performance.”
