Four sets of siblings turned out for Wanderers this term

Ilford Wanderers fielded four sets of brothers in their recent Essex Presidents Shield victory over Kings Cross Steelers.

Siblings Lee and James Martin, Lawrence and Morgan Brown, Paul and Graham Bailey and Tom and Kieran Clancy formed a large part of Ilford’s squad this term, in keeping with the club’s family vibe.

All four sets of siblings played their part as Wanderers also clinched promotion from Essex One Premier as well as win the Essex Presidents Shield.

Director of Rugby Chris Smith commented: “This is what we are about at the Wanderers, we are all brothers.

“The Baileys have been stalwarts of the club for many years; the Clancys have recently joined but have fitted in straight away; while the Martins and Browns have come through our junior section to be key members of our first team squad.

“It makes for a great atmosphere and gives us an edge on the pitch.”
