After back-to-back defeats in the London One North, the New Wilderness outfit bounced back on Saturday

Eton Manor head coach Jamie Connors was pleased to see his team return to winning ways in the London One North with a 68-26 win over Luton last weekend.

The Bedfordshire-based club made the trip to Wanstead looking to cause the hosts some problems, but they come up against a wounded animal.

Manor had lost their previous two matches, away to North Walsham on October 27 and at home to Colchester on October 20, and the home side took out some of their frustration on Luton last Saturday.

Cameron Dutch crossed over five times in addition to kicking nine conversions on a fine day for him, while Luigi Martelletti grabbed a brace.

Paddy Sheahy, Matt Oaks and Aaron Lowe also picked up tries during a surprisingly mild afternoon at the New Wilderness considering it is the start of November.

“It was a pretty disappointing couple of weeks for us really, especially away at North Walsham, so it was good to bounce back, get the five points and grab some tries while having fun doing it,” Connors said.

“One of the criticisms from the weeks before, certainly against Colchester, was we were creating a number of chances, but not finishing them off and scoring tries.

“It was nice to score some really good tries against Luton and see some smiles on the boys’ faces again.”

Manor victory failed to move them back into the top four, however, as they sit fifth with 33 points – the same amount as fourth-placed H.A.C.
