Ilford Wanderers moved another step closer to promotion with a comfortable 22-3 victory against Billericay RFC.

Ilford’s squad shone despite five regulars missing and a handful of position changes they still controlled this game from start to finish.

They were tawarded a free kick at a line out and at the next breakdown a swift cut out pass put centre Sam Eddy in for the first score followed by a touchline conversion from Alex Berbank.

A penalty was Billericay’s only reward and finished their scoring for the day.

A turnover in Billericay’s half was then moved to the right and back to the left where Jason Taylor put in a kick for winger James Martin to touch down.

Taylor crashed through the heart of Billericay’s defence and the ball was then quickly moved to the wing where Berbank acrobatically took the ball to score.

Ilford rounded off the scoring when Kieran Clancy crossed the line.
