Essex One Premier: Billericay 15 Ilford Wanderers 36

Ilford Wanderers maintained their unbeaten run in the league with a 36-15 win at Billericay in Essex One Premier.

Wanderers took the lead 25 minutes into the match good progress through the midfield allowed captain Jason Taylor to cross for a try.

Team mate Tom Clancy soon joined Taylor on the scoresheet after sidestepping his way through the home defence.

Soon after, a delicate chip by Ilford fly half Alfie Waddams was collected by Clancy, who dotted down for his second try of the match.

Centre Ryan McCarthy was also able to cross before the break as Ilford held a 24-3 advantage at half time.

Hooker Sam Morgan and skipper Taylor both scored tries in the second half to secure a bonus point for Wanderers in the win.

“We played for 20 minutes either side of the break which was enough, but could have been a lot better,” said Taylor on the victory.
