Redbridge cross the river to play Thamesmead Town
Redbridge chief Dave Ross says he is not afraid to field youngsters when his side travel to Thamesmead Town on Saturday (KO 3pm).
The Motormen are currently in the midst of an injury crisis following Wednesday’s 1-0 loss at home to Cray Wanderers.
Ross insists he is happy to field younger players if he needs to but also expects an improved display from his squad at Thamesmead.
“There are young players in the side and we’re not frightened to give them a chance,” said Ross.

“If they’re good enough to play, they will. If we think a youngster can do a job for us, we’ll give them a chance to show it.”
“We expect a response after the Cray result. We certainly can’t play was we did in that game.”

The Mead have recently had a change of mangement with former Oaksiders’ gaffer Terry Spillane taking charge at Bayliss Avenue.
Current Redbrige joint-manager Ross is wary of the effect this may have on the weekend’s opposition.
“Terry’s a good, experienced manager so it could be tough. We know it will be a good game but also a hard game,” added Ross.
“We can’t worry about what other teams do if we play like we did against Cray, though. If we can get it right, hopefully we can come away with something.”
