Redbridge 18 Plus members are celebrating their latest victory in the social group’s regional pool competition.

The event saw 17 players from the Anglia and South East Area competing, with the top two progressing from each group in the initial round-robin stage.

Four Redbridge players made the quarter finals, with Redbridge’s Paul Savvas, last year’s winner, and Trevor Eley qualifying for the final in a repeat of last year’s.

The first frame saw Savvas take an early lead, but a spirited fight back from Eley saw him win the opener on a black-ball finish.

The second frame saw Savvas’ previous form dip slightly to give Eley a 2-0 win.

“It was a good performance from all of our players and it’s enjoyable to have an all-Redbridge final, but I was just relived to beat Paul in a close run final,” said Eley.

The Redbridge 18 Plus group meets every Friday from 8.30-10 pm at Goodmayes Community Centre. Visit www.redbridge18plus.org.uk for more information.
