Youngster to skipper national youth team in Dublin next month
Essex Open youngster Jasmin Odeogberin has been selected as captain of the England women’s under-17 team that will compete in the Netball Europe competition next month.
Odeogberin will lead her country in games against Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland in Dublin from March 2-4.
Playing for club side Essex Open, Odeogberin has been a key part of the side that currently sits atop the Mizuno Premier Division Three.
In addition to playing for Essex Open, Odeogberin also plays for London Pulse in the National Premier League Under-19 competition.
Odeogberin was in action for Pulse at the weekend as they went down 61-57 in an exciting game with Wasps.
“We are delighted for Jasmin. This is well deserved,” said club spokesperson Steve Wilks.
“She has come up through our youth ranks and has had an outstanding season in our Premier Division team this year.”
Odeogberin will hope to transfer her fine club form into her international games next month.
