Essex Open produced a fine second half display to record a 48-40 win away to Cumberland in the Mizuno Premier League Division Three.

Cumberland hit back, though, with Essex trailing by two twice in the second period, but the visitors then rallied themselves to lead 21-19 heading into half time.

Open began the third quarter brightly and extended their lead with Leah Humphries and Maddie Oshodi finding the basket regularly as the visitors held a 39-30 advantage.
