Five Hainault racers tackled a 25-mile time trial on Good Friday

Despite the cold start and fresh winds, five Hainault racers tackled the Eastern Counties Cycling Association (ECCA) 25-mile time trial on Good Friday.

Last year’s club champion Howard Staunton suffered an unfortunate puncture but the remaining four riders were able to finish the course.

They were led home by Mark Steers in one hour and 37 seconds.

Further down the field, just two minutes separated three Hainault riders in the shape of the improving Glen Littlechild, Gary Lane and John Witchell, which bodes well for the racing season ahead
