Heart of Oak member Angel Anegbeh had something to celebrate after collecting a bronze medal at this year’s Cadet English Open.

The event took place at the University of Wolverhampton’s campus in Walsall, West Midlands.

Anegbeh was one of five Heart of Oak members to take part in the competition, along with her sisters Mercedes and Summer.

Boys’ team captain Musa Bukhari and Morgan James also travelled north to take part in this year’s event.

Despite firing on all cylinders, Mukhari and James were unable to get the better of their opponents in Walsall.

Mercedes Anegbeh and Summer Anegbeh also performed well, but could not claim a medal in the West Midlands.

However, following a string of solid displays throughout the competition, Angel Anegbeh finished third in her category to take a place on the podium.

Heart of Oak train at St Luke’s Church Hall in Baxter Road, Ilford every Friday from 6-8pm.
