Fairlop Waters GC produced a stunning fightback to come from 2-0 down to beat Wanstead 3-2 in their latest Essex County Youth Shield League clash.
The first two matches of the afternoon were both decided on the 18th at Fairlop, but Wanstead took a two-point lead with Noah King and Ben Hussein triumphing.
The third match marked the start of the comeback for the hosts, though, with Tom Gunning hitting his tee shot to within a foot on the par-three 18th before holing out to win.
Teddy Godleman then won his match for Fairlop with a hole to spare to take the fixture to a deciding game.
That allowed Ryan Robinson the chance to secure the win for the hosts in fine fashion, winning on the 16th green.
“There were many compliments for the Fairlop Waters Golf Course from players and spectators and kind words from Graham Shepherd, the junior organizer of Wanstead,” said a Fairlop spokesperson.
