Yearly event to take place at Goodmayes Hospital Sports Ground this Saturday

Thomas McCurtains host their annual fun day this Saturday, with plenty of entertainment on offer at their Goodmayes Hospital Sports Ground base from 10.30am.

Throughout the day, there will be a hurling games centre for children, as well as a beer tent, food stalls, Irish dancing, music and plenty of match action.

The camogie team are first up at 11am when they play Tara in the British Intermediate Championship semi-finals.

Following that, the hurling team entertain Fulham Irish in the London Intermediate Championship at 3pm.

The fun day, which is open to all and free to come along to, will also see a raffle, featuring prizes such as a trip to New York for two and tickets to the All-Ireland Senior hurling and football finals.

Away from the fun day, the men’s footballers are in London Division Three action on Sunday when they host Brothers Pearse with a 2pm start in Goodmayes.

Last weekend, the hurlers suffered defeat in the final of the Mullarkey Cup, going down 4-8 to 1-6 against Eire Og.

The camogie team, meanwhile, edged a thriller with Fr. Murphy’s in the British Intermediate Championship, winning 4-9 to 4-8.
