The latest news from the Thomas McCurtains GAA club

Thomas McCurtains’ hurling team are through to the final of the Ronan Cup after beating Granuaile 2-19 to 0-11.

The Goodmayes club played some fantastic hurling throughout and went in at the break four points ahead at 1-8 to 0-7.

Playing with the breeze in the second half, McCurtains managed to pull clear thanks to some fine midfield play and reach the final, where they will face Brothers Pearse.

There was heartbreak for McCurtains’ camogie team, though, as they lost 3-9 to 1-4 against Fr Murphys in the British Mixed League semi-finals.

The upcoming weekend is set to be a quiet one for the club, with only the women’s footballers in action.

McCurtains will travel across London to Greenford on Saturday to take part in a seven-a-side tournament hosted by Tir Chonaill Gaels.

Next Tuesday sees the men’s footballers back in action as they host Tir Chonaill Gaels in London League Division Three, with a 7.15pm start in Goodmayes.
