Thomas McCurtains added another trophy to their cabinet after the hurling team won the London League Division Two title.

The Goodmayes club had been due to face Brothers Pearse in the final on Saturday, but were instead awarded a walkover and the trophy, presented by London chairman John Lacey.

The men’s football team, meanwhile, qualified for the All-Britain Championship after 2-9 to 0-13 win over Cu Chulainns in the Junior/Intermediate play-off.

Played at a fast pace throughout, two goals in the first half, one each from Conor Murphy and Mark McGirr, gave McCurtains a great platform at half time

The Goodmayes club kicked on in the second half and a solid defensive effort kept the opposition at bay.

McCurtains will face the Yorkshire champions, who are still to be decided, in the All-Britain quarter-finals on the weekend of October 21, with both a time and venue yet to be confirmed.
