Thomas McCurtains’ hurlers took another step towards the semi-finals of the London Intermediate Championship with a 6-17 to 0-3 crushing of Kilburn Gaels B.

Mark Russell delivered a special display, scoring five points in the first half, before finishing with a 1-6 haul overall.

The move of the game came late in the first half when Dean Corrigan embarked on solo run down the left wing, before picking out Joe Coulson who controlled the sliotar and fired into the net.

Coulson added another goal in the second half, with further goals from Conor Smyth (two) and Roger Irish putting the gloss on the final score.

The news was not so good for the men’s footballers, though, as they were beaten 2-11 to 1-9 by Tir Chonaill Gaels in the London Junior Championship.

The hurlers are scheduled to face Granuaille in the Intermediate Championship this weekend, though a time and venue is yet to be confirmed.
