The latest news from the Thomas McCurtains GAA club

A great crowd descended on the Goodmayes Hospital Sports Ground last weekend as Thomas McCurtains hosted their annual fun day.

Those in attendance were kept entertained by Irish dancing and music from DJ Jeanette.

There was also plenty of GAA action on the day, with both the camogie team and hurling squad in action.

The camogie team were up first as they faced Tara in the semi-finals of the British Intermediate Championships.

In an enthralling encounter, the hosts were sadly edged out by just two points, losing 1-13 to 2-5.

There was better news for the hurlers, though, as they beat Fulham Irish 0-14 to 2-4 in their opening London Intermediate Championship fixture.

Earlier in the day, McCurtains had hosted a Hurling Go Games event in partnership with London GAA, which saw 250 youngsters from 10 clubs take part.

After such a packed Saturday, the club takes this weekend off with no fixtures currently scheduled for any of their senior teams.
