Thomas McCurtains’ hurling team got their Ronan Cup defence off to the perfect start with a 2-16 to 1-11 win over Fulham Irish in the quarter-finals.

The Goodmayes club enjoyed a fine start to proceedings and held a 0-10 to 0-6 lead at half time.

Goals from Eoghan Caldwell and Joe McGuire after the break helped ease McCurtains into the final four.

There was no such good news from the men’s for the men’s football team, who lost their Shiels Cup quarter-final to Harlesden Harps 2-13 to 0-8.

McCurtains’ women’s football team also suffered defeat as they lost 4-12 to 2-8 against Parnells in the London Intermediate Championship.

The club are always on the lookout for new players, with Gaelic football and hurling teams for both men and women from under-eights up to adults.
