Wins help Ilford, Barking climb standings

Two first half goals in quick succession saw Ilford emerge 4-2 winners at Hullbridge Sports.

After going close inside the first 23 seconds, the visitors took the lead through Elias Armar Taccie in the 18th minute.

Less than five minutes later, the Foxes had their second when Karolis Atutis struck.

Hullbridge had their chances but could not find a way past a resolute Ilford defence before Charlie Litle scored 10 minutes before the break.

The game continued to ebb and flow until a 75th minute goal from Carl Mullings, playing against his former club, put daylight between the sides again.

And the Foxes moved further ahead three minutes later when Atutis scored his second of the match.

Bradley Morgan scored a late consolation for the hosts seven minutes from time as Ilford climb to sixth.


Barking ended a run of three games without a win by beating lowly Takeley 2-0 away from home.

Wale Odedoyin opened the scoring for the Blues with a goal in the 26th minute at Station Road.

And the visitors made sure of the points when Luke Foster 22 minutes after the break with Barking moving up to 10th as a result.
