Redbridge climbed out of the Ryman North relegation zone after coming from behind to beat Maldon & Tiptree 3-2 at Oakside Stadium.

Having ended a run of 13 straight league defeats with a victory at home to Soham Town Rangers on Saturday, the Motormen were keen to keep their recent revival going.

They looked on course to achieve that in the 34th minute when Joe Gent opened the scoring for the hosts.

But the Jammers were level on the stroke of half time thanks to an equaliser from Femi Akinwende that saw the first period end 1-1.

Five minutes after the break, the visitors went ahead through Darren Mills as the match looked to be going with form.

Redbridge were handed a route back into the fixture in the 60th minute with the award of a penalty that was cooly converted by Jay Knight.

Less than three minutes later, Knight struck again to score what proved to be the winner and move the Motormen up to 21st in the process.

Barkingside gained revenge for an earlier Ryman North loss to Phoenix Sports with a 2-0 win away from home.

Side were beaten 1-0 when the teams met in the second game of the season but were fired to success in Barnehurst by a double from Tyrone Scarlet.

The in-form striker’s first of the night came in the 24th minute to ensure the visitors headed into the break ahead.

Scarlet struck again 19 minutes from time to hand Barkingside victory and keep their good recent form going.
