Boss happy with a clean sheet

Redbridge earned a goalless Ryman North draw with ninth-placed Ware at Oakside last night (Tuesday), which left manager Dave Ross not too unhappy with what he’d seen.

“We had four great chances, hitting the woodwork on two of those occasions,” he said.

“We could have been comfortable winners, but it was still a nice point for us. To me, though, it was a massive plus to come away with a clean sheet.

New signing Chinedu McKenzie from Harlow had a couple of chances, but couldn’t put either away.

“Chinedu had two good chances, but he’s new here and once he gets his match fitness, I’m sure he’ll take those sort of chances when they come along,” said Ross.

“We need to work on that side of our game, but at least we’re creating chances. I’d be far more worried if we weren’t.”

Redbridge: Parker, Murphy, Parish, L Thomas, Scott, Carolan, Chambers, Damali, McKenzie, S Gent (Smith 74), Wallace. Unused subs: Fatai, Bansende, Spillman, Moses.

The Motormen face a trip to Tilbury on Saturday, followed by a long trip to Norfolk to take on Wroxham on Tuesday night.
