Ryman Div 1N: Ilford 2 Harlow 1; Waltham Abbey 0 Redbridge 4

Redbridge took a big step towards ensuring their survival in Ryman Division One North with a superb win at Waltham Abbey.

But neighbours Ilford are putting up a fight, claiming only their third win of the campaign against Harlow at Cricklefield to take the battle into the final week of the season.

Jason Dobbs put Motormen ahead at Capershotts before Danny Hayes added a stunning second for his second goal of the season.

Nana Asamoah fired in a 25-yard free kick to put Redbridge 3-0 up before 17-year-old D’Sean Theobald sealed their best victory of the season.

After a goalless first half, Ilford fell behind within a minute of the restart as Stanley Muguo put Harlow ahead.

But they hit back to score twice and claim the points, leaving Redbridge to wait before they can celebrate safety.

Ilford remain three points adrift of their rivals at the bottom and have an inferior goal difference, with only one fixture remaining at Tilbury next weekend.

Redbridge visit play-off chasing Aveley tomorrow (Monday), where a point will condemn their neighbours to the Essex Senior League, before ending their campaign with a home match against Sudbury.
