Redbridge made the long trip home from Suffolk empty handed after conceding a late goal last night.

Motormen travelled up the A12 in good spirits on the back of their 3-0 home win over Soham Town at the weekend.

And they produced a hard-working display at Bloomfields, edging the midfield battles as the scoreline remained blank at the break.

Their cause was not helped by the dismissal of defender Hussainou Jaffa, however, and the home side claimed all three points on 80 minutes when the experienced Jamie Guy struck the only goal of the night.

Victory lifted the hosts to third place in the table, while Motormen find themselves in 17th place after a third defeat in four outings under new joint managers Ricky Eaton and Dave Ross.

Redbridge make the short trip to basement boys Waltham Forest on Saturday, before hosting tenants Barkingside in a Bank Holiday Monday derby at Oakside.

Ilford, meanwhile, are in Essex Senior League cup action tonight (Wednesday) as they welcome London Bari to Cricklefield Stadium.
