Redbridge will have a long wait for their next match and could be knocked off the top of the Essex Senior League in the mean time, writes Jacob Ranson.
The Motormen will not be in action this weekend and will next play on Wednesday, when they make the trip to Wadham Lodge.
That means they will not have played in 11 days after their midweek fixture against West Essex was postponed on Tuesday.
Joint-manager Ricky Eaton is not happy to see his squad facing another long lay-off and insists the league is so tight anything could happen yet.
“Again unfortunately for us we have another break,” he said.
“The breaks are not good for anyone and we’ve had two long breaks in a row now and we don’t play until Wednesday week.
“By the time it comes round it will have been 11 days since our last match.
“To be honest the league is really tight, no matter what anyone does it’s still going to go down to the wire in my opinion, there is going to be a lot more highs and lows for everyone.”
He also believes there is no reason to panic as everyone has tricky games coming up and they still lead the league by three points.
“A lot of the teams play each other, I think Great Wakering has a good run of fixtures, but they also got some tricky games as well.
“Everyone is going to be dropping points here and there.
“I will be looking at the results but I’m not going to be hoping for anything, just what happens, happens.
“If we win our games then no one can catch us, we concentrate on ourselves and let others worry about what we do.”
Eaton revealed Wadham Lodge will be an unknown quantity when the game rolls around next week.
“I don’t know what to expect from them to be honest I think they’ve had a little bit of a change around and signed some new players.”
