Ryman North: Cheshunt 4 Redbridge 2
Redbridge went unrewarded in their first outing of 2016 after a match of three own goals at Theobalds Lane.
Only six minutes had been played when the Ambers took the lead through Michael Akande’s own goal.
And another own goal from Stephen Good midway through the first half allowed the home side to double their advantage, before Cheshunt’s Joe Kizzi turned the ball into his own net to gift Redbridge a reply on 32 minute.
Cheshunt restored their two-goal cushion just past the hour mark, though, as Adam Bolle beat Callum Chafer.
But Motormen hit back on 69 minutes as Reside Coxi-Sebastfao found the net to give them hope of salvaging something from the game once more.
Those hopes were shattered three minutes from time, however, as substitute Stuart Zanone netted Cheshunt’s fourth goal of the afternoon to seal the points for the home side.
A third successive defeat leaves Motormen next to bottom and two points adrift of safety, ahead of their home meeting with Thamesmead at Oakside next weekend.
Redbridge: Chafer, Cornelius, Alexandrou, Good, Akande, Sackey (Drake 80), Coxi-Sebastfao, Portway (Sidhu 83), Ditkevicius, Knight, Prince. Unused subs: Belindir, Smith.
