Former Motormen striker Charlie Portway put the Bloods ahead with an 11th-minute penalty at Oakside Stadium, before Michael Ogboin levelled nine minutes later.

And that was how it stayed as both sides took a point.

Barkingside, meanwhile, battled to a goalless draw at Hullbridge Sports, while Carl Mullings returned to haunt former club Ilford at Cricklefield Stadium, netting twice in the first half to help Stansted to a 3-0 win.

Sam West added the third goal for the Airportmen in the second period.

Woodford Town had opened their campaign with a 4-1 win over Leyton Athletic on Friday night, thanks to two goals from Ola Ogunwamide.

Chinua Phinn-Archer and Ethan Kessel were also on target for Town, before Dwade James grabbed a late consolation.

Barkingside are set to host Sporting Bengal United on Monday, while Redbridge visit Enfield.

And Tuesday sees Ilford make the trip to the Old Spotted Dog to face Clapton, while Woodford Town welcome St Margaretsbury to their temporary Harlow Arena base.
