Orient keeper Jones relishes long road to recovery

It’s been a long road to recovery for Orient goalkeeper Jamie Jones.
The long-serving stopper made his return to the Orient first team after more than three months out with a stress fracture to the back.
Despite the Bradford defeat, the 25-year-old Scouser declared “it’s great to be back.”
He said: “I love playing for this club but unfortunately we didn’t get the right result today.
“I felt great out there. The back feels fine. I had to pick one out of the net so it felt a bit sore when I did that but it’s good to be back in the team.
“The reception was brilliant and I appreciate that.”
Jones’ return between the sticks came earlier than he might have expected.
It’s not the first long-term injury the goalkeeper has suffered in his career.
He’s found it “frustrating” and has found it impossible to pinpoint when it happened.
Jones said: “This one was a freak injury, there’s nothing I could have done about it.
“One week it was sore, then I got a scan on it and found out it was a stress fracture. There was no incident when it happened, it just came through time.”
