Ryman North: Redbridge 1 Cheshunt 1

Redbridge were left with mixed emotions after conceding in the 90th minute at home to Cheshunt in the Ryman North last night.

The Motormen, who had their relegation confirmed at the start of this month, took the lead in the second half through Jay Knight.

But the Ambers struck in injury time through prolific Jason Hallett to ensure they took a share of the spoils at Oakside.

Dave Ross and Ricky Eaton’s side went into the clash confident after beating local rivals Barkingside 1-0 at the weekend.

They were still bottom of the table, though, and four points adrift of their locals rivals after Side beat Romford 4-0 on Monday.

Hussainou Jaffa and Berkcan Belindir were brought into the starting line-up with AJ Adelekan and Adam Hunt missing out.

Cheshunt were forced to make an early change when Tom Bruno was replaced by Luke Marshall after just 12 minutes.

Neither side was able to trouble the scoreline early on, but Motormen were given a boost when Ambers Liam Hope was shown a straight red card five minutes before half time.

It remained goalless at the break, but Ross and Eaton’s men had the advantage of playing against 10 men for the second 45.

They finally made it count in the 73rd minute when Knight found the net – scoring in back-to-back games for the first time since October.

Jordan Cornelius was introduced six minutes later as Motormen looked to run down the clock and earn another victory.

Youngster Jayden Hocking-Rising come on in the 85th minute as Redbridge edged closer to the win.

But Cheshunt had the final say when Hallett scored deep into stoppage time to leave the hosts frustrated.

It was a respectable result against a side looking to reach the play-offs, but Motormen trail Barkingside by three points now with just two more games left this season.

Redbridge: Freund, Sackey, Jaffa, Burgess, Parish, Good, Gent, Kabashi, Belindir, Knight (Hockling-Rising 85), Coxi-Sebastfao (Cornelius 79).

Unused subs: Dobson, Odutola.

Attendance: 63.
