Essex Senior League: Ilford 1 Woodford Town 5

Woodford Town made it five consecutive wins to keep the pressure on the Essex Senior League’s top four with a 5-1 victory over local rivals Ilford.

A hat-trick from 17-year-old from Jaden Thompson-Brissett and a brace from the in-form Temi Babalola sealed the three points for Town at Cricklefield Stadium.

That win keeps them sitting fifth in the Essex Senior League while Martin Haywood’s side still sit ninth - despite falling to three consecutive league defeats.

Ilford have only won one of their last nine matches in all competitions.

Dee Safer’s will now play host to Stanway Rovers at their temporary home at Harlow Arena on Friday evening.

The Foxes on the other hand will travel away to Saffron Walden Town as they bid to get revenge after falling to a 3-0 defeat last week to their next opponents.
