Essex Senior League: Ilford 0 Takeley 2

Ilford suffered a late 2-0 defeat to play-off hopefuls Takeley as Charlie Cole netted twice in the dying stages of the match.

The Foxes failed to make it back-to-back wins after beating Tower Hamlets in mid-week while Takeley managed to bounce back from seven consecutive defeats in all competitions to seal the three points at Cricklefield Stadium.

Cole ruined Ilford’s chances of getting anything from the match as he found the net in the 86th minute and then again in the 96th minute to put the nail in the coffin.

Ilford will now look to bounce back when they face local rivals Redbridge in the Gordon Brasted Memorial Trophy on Wednesday evening.

They will then return to Essex Senior League action on the weekend when they travel to in-form Hullbridge Sports.

Ilford: Rosetti, Casey, Mosanya, Sylvester-Ajudua, Haigh, Dzotsi, Lentell, Victorin, Adelani, Docaj, Nazor.

Subs: Atim, Oyeleke, Diakiesse, Fudge.

Takeley: Yates, Humphrys, Gullivor, Warman, Castle, Hurley, Das, Todd, Sykes, Cole, Thorpe.

Subs: Riley, Miles, Agyeman, Pollen, Nappett.
