Ilford progressed into the second round of the Errington Challenge Cup after sealing a 2-1 victory against Essex Senior League big boys Walthamstow in the first round last night.

The Foxes will now travel to Southend Manor in the next round after seeing off Ryan Maxwell’s side at Kitchener Road.

David Oyeleku put the visitors ahead in the 14th minute when he slotted home a loose ball from an incoming corner and they took that 1-0 lead into the half-time break.

Martin Haywood’s side then wrapped up the win with a late own goal to give them a deserved win.

Ilford are now without a game this weekend after failing to progress through in the FA Cup and FA Vase.

They will return to action on Saturday, September, 15 when they face local rivals Redbridge after the game was rescheduled for that date earlier this week due to both sides being without a match.
