Essex Senior League: Ilford 0 Saffron Walden Town 3

10-man Ilford fell to a 3-0 defeat to promotion hopefuls Saffron Walden Town after Josh Perry was sent off during the clash.

Goals from Craig Calver, Marcus Crowther and substitute Tom Lakin helped secure the three points for the Bloods at Cricklefield Stadium.

Calver opened the scoring in the 38th minute before Crowther doubled his side’s lead six minutes later to take a 2-0 lead into the half-time break.

They added a third thanks to substitute Lakin in the second period to complete another win at Cricklefield Stadium this season and are now just a point behind second placed Stansted in the Essex Senior League table.

Martin Haywood’s side will now travel away to high-flying Stansted on Saturday as they look to bounce back from a recent dip in form.

The Foxes currently sit ninth but have only won once in their last six fixtures in all competitions.
