Essex Senior League: Enfield 1 Ilford 3

A Lauric Diakiesse hat-trick inspired Ilford to a 3-1 win over Enfield to get them back to winning ways after being held to a 2-2 draw against Hullbridge Sports on the weekend.

Diakiesse opened the scoring to give his side a 1-0 lead in the first-half and they managed to hold on until the half-time whistle.

In the 74th minute the hosts Enfield levelled the score thanks to Ayo Odukoya as he found the net but the Foxes restored their lead seven minutes later as Diakiesse got his second of the evening.

Enfield were then reduced to ten-man after an incident in the box and the Foxes took advantage of that as Diakiesse completed his hat-trick in stoppage time to earn his side the three points.

Ilford moved up to eigth in the table and will return to action on Saturday when they host the in-form Sporting Bengal United.
