Gordon Brasted Memorial Trophy: Ilford 4 Enfield 2

Ilford progressed to the quarter-finals of the Gordon Brasted Memorial Trophy after coming for 2-1 down to beat Enfield 4-2.

James Peagram hit a brace for the Foxes in the win, with new skipper Paul Oshin and George Whitelock also on target.

The hosts took the lead at Cricklefield in the 22nd minute, but were pegged back three minutes before the break when two ex-Ilford players combined, with Luke Thomas teeing up Carl Mullings.

The Foxes conceded a second before the break with Andy Tirivanhu netting in stoppage time as the E’s led 2-1 at the break.

Just eight minutes into the second half, Ilford were level, before retaking the lead in the 70th minute.

With two minutes remaining, Allan Fenn’s men sealed the win with their fourth goal of the night to make it through to the last eight.

The Foxes are next in action in the Essex Senior League on Monday night when they visit in-form Tower Hamlets.
