Essex Senior League: Ilford 0 Wadham Lodge 3

Ilford suffered a fifth straight defeat in the Essex Senior League after going down 3-0 at home to struggling Wadham Lodge.

The Foxes had been looking for their first win since beating Southend Manor away from home on February 24.

However, goals from Eli Benoit, Abdoulie Njai and player/manager Jason Ngandu saw Lodge claim all three points.

To compound the misery for the Cricklefield Stadium club, manager Billy Cove was also dismissed from the touchline during the game, while the hosts also had their debutant keeper sent off.

It was a disappointing night for Ilford and they will hope to recover in time for the ‘visit’ of tenants Barkingside on Saturday.

The game will be the Foxes’ final home match of the season and they will want to sign off from Cricklefield Stadium in style.

Should they beat Side on Saturday, Ilford will collect a first home league win since January 27.
