Grove Primary school were crowned champions of Redbridge, after winning the Redbridge Primary School’s year five and six competition with a 6-1 win over Godwin Primary School.

Grove broke the deadlock with captain Keiron Unwin finding the net, after being played in by Havik Singh, before the skipper netted a second for his side.

It wasn’t long before they extended the lead to three, when Mudia Adagbasa fired home, after a succession of passes with team-mate Ismael Sarr.

Godwin pulled one back just before half-time to make it 3-1 and started the second-half strongly, but Grove stayed solid at the back, before skipper Unwin went on to score another three goals and take his tally to five and give his side the 6-1 victory.

Coach Hafiz Ahmed said: “These boys have done their school proud they worked so hard since January and deserve this today.”
