Ryman Div 1N: Erith & Belvedere 0 Barkingside 6

Calvin Poku netted five times as Barkingside hit relegated Erith for six in their penultimate match of the Ryman One North season.

Having ensured their survival with a 1-1 draw against Ware on Saturday – as relegation rivals Wroxham were beaten at home by Burnham – Matt Frew’s men took the lead after only seven minutes through Poku in south London.

Poku doubled his side’s lead two minutes later and he completed a five-minute hat-trick on 12 minutes.

The fourth goal arrived on 17 minutes, but Poku had to wait until the hour mark to complete his nap hand.

The striker left to a standing ovation with 20 minutes remaining, as he was replaced by young Harry Matthews.

But Lewis Francis had already netted Barkingside’s sixth by that point, before he made way for Chas Liddiard.

Barkingside will bring the curtain down on their campaign when they host Sudbury in their last-ever match at Oakside before starting a new groundshare agreement with Essex Senior League side Ilford in 2014-15.

Erith: Sturgeon, Whelan, Roberts, Fitzpatrick, Clark, McIntyre, Alade (Hinds-Cadette 55), Thomas, Flack, Humber, Senkatuka (Christian-Law 47).

Unused subs: Clarke, Cassius.

Barkingside: Pitman, Hayes, Rolls, Ellul, Waldron, Suchley (Callaway 72), Edmunds, Carvell, Francis (Liddiard 65), Gulfer, Poku (Matthews 70). Unused subs: Ellis, Clark.

Redbridge 0 VCD Athletic 1

Redbridge were edged out by long-time leaders VCD Athletic in their final home fixture of the season at Oakside.

Karl Dent’s goal on the stroke of half time proved enough for the visitors to take all three points and continue their title bid to the last day of the season.

VCD trail new leaders Witham by a point, but have a slightly superior goal difference heading into the last round of matches on Saturday.

They host Romford in their final fixture, while Witham visit Cheshunt.

Defeat left Redbridge in 14th place, meanwhile, but they could climb above Aveley on the final day of the season with a win at third-placed Heybridge Swifts, if their rivals lose at home to Waltham Abbey which appears, on paper, to be unlikely.

Redbridge: Driscoll, Bansende, Parish, Good, L Thomas, Thompson (Adelekan 81), Bradbury, Worrell, Francis, Damali (Dobson 90), Tenkorang (Roberts 73).
