Barkingside had to settle for a point against 10-man Wadham Lodge in their second from last match of the season.

Side were pegged back and held to a 1-1 draw despite taking a 1-0 lead in the 37th minute of the match at Wadham Lodge Stadium last night.

It was in-form striker Roddy Lemba fired a low shot to the keeper’s right to make it 0-1 but Lodge equalised in the 43rd minute through Jason Ngandu against a run of the play.

Lodge desperately needed the three points to remain in the Essex Senior League but it wasn’t to be and they had a player sent off in the 72nd minute.

The hosts failed to find a winner and have been relegated along with Hackney Wick and Burnham Ramblers.
