Essex Senior League: Redbridge and Ilford win as Tower Hamlets fall to another defeat

Redbridge turned their fortunes round in the second-half to nick a late 3-2 victory against Southend Manor.

The Motormen were trailing 2-1 at the break to Manor but goals from Michael Ogboin, Asher Modeste and Vinny Murphy sealed the three points for the side at Southchurch Park.

Ricky Eaton’s side now sit 10th in the Essex Senior League after that win and will now turn their attentions to a London Senior Cup clash with Cockfosters on Tuesday evening.

Neighbours Ilford continued their impressive start to the campaign with a 3-0 victory against St Margaretsbury.

Goals from Danny Haigh, Seye Okunola and substitute Callum Maltese sealed the three points and moved the Foxes second in the table.

Striker Yemi Adelani tweeted after the match: “What a win boys, 3-0 away from home, great team performance we worked hard until the final whistle.

“We go again on Wednesday Ilford. Come on you Foxes.”

Martin Haywood’s side will host Southend Manor on Wednesday evening as they look to continue their recent run of form.

Elsewhere, Tower Hamlets are still searching for their first win of the season, after failing to a 5-0 defeat to Saffron Walden Town.
